This is where thousands of annuals, houseplants, perennials, trees, and shrubs are grown from seed or cutting, long before they arrive at the garden center or find their way into your space. Our growing team is constantly trialing new varieties, pushing for better performance, more beauty, and more diversity so you always have something unique to work with.
We take a regenerative approach here, too. No synthetic chemicals or pesticides, and a focus on living soil that supports strong, resilient plants from the ground up. Healthy roots, balanced systems, and plants that are meant to thrive well beyond the greenhouse.

Across 140 acres, we grow seasonal vegetables and raise livestock with a deep respect for the land and the natural systems that sustain it. Cows, pigs, chickens, and turkeys all play a role, contributing to a cycle where animals, crops, and soil continuously support one another.
We farm with a soil-first mindset. When the soil is healthy, everything else follows. Stronger plants, healthier animals, more flavorful food.
Everything we do is connected. What happens on the farm supports what we grow in our greenhouses, what we offer in the garden center, and ultimately what makes its way into your home and gardens.

All produce for the CSA share program is sustainably grown without toxic chemicals at Tangletown Gardens’ 140 acre farm and greenhouse facility in Plato, Minnesota. Our Summer share begins mid-June and continues through mid-October. Members will receive 16 weeks (weather permitting) of in-season, freshly picked, grown produce.
Every weekly share includes incredibly flavorful, hard to find heirlooms and long standing kitchen favorites. Whatever is at its peak of ripeness goes into your weekly share, washed and carefully packed. Your share will offer as much diversity as the season allows with fresh, healthy vegetables, herbs and fruits, with an occasional surprise.
We also offer Coffee, Mushroom, Bread, Cheese, Thanksgiving, and Easter Shares!

Farm Direct
Online Store - Pickup in Minneapolis or Plato
Our Farm Direct Shoppe is a year-round weekly program. Choose from seasonal veggies as well as meats, eggs, and other provisions. We also partner with local businesses to offer a broader selection of food throughout the year. Our produce is grown without harmful chemicals and our animals are humanely raised. There is no commitment, only a $25 order minimum.
Our inventory is updated weekly, so be sure to check back often for new arrivals.
The store is open 24/7, with options for easy pickup:
Wise Acre (Mpls): Tuesdays and Thursdays
Our Farm (Plato): Thursdays only
Ordering Deadlines:
For Tuesday pickup: Please order by Monday at 12:00 PM.
For Thursday pickup: Please order by Wednesday at 12:00 PM.
Orders are individually packed and meat is frozen.
